The new Munich football temple, perhaps the most beautiful stadium in the world, is located in the immediate vicinity of our hotel. Football is the centre of interest in the Allianz Arena, which was conceived by Swiss star architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, and built in the possibly record-breaking construction time of two and a half years.

The arena in Munich seating 69,000 spectators is designed uncompromisingly as a pure football stadium in the English style, and depending on qualification per season offers the perfect setting for about fifty games in the German First and Second Division, German DFB Cup, UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions league. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the Allianz Arena was also the focus of the entire world as the home ground for the opening match of the German national team and five other games.

Moreover, the largest contiguous multi-storey car park in Europe - with 9,800 parking spaces over five levels - was created. The outer skin of the façade - which consists of 2,760 transparent, air-filled elements with an integrated light system - can be illuminated in red, white or blue. With a length of 258 metres, a width of 227 metres and a height of 50 metres, the oval also impresses through unbelievable compactness and the three steepest terraces in Europe.
